I had the opportunity to ask a public question at Cambridgeshire County Council to highlight the urgent issue of rising living costs impacting vulnerable residents in Huntington and across the county. I expressed deep concern about families being forced to choose between heating and eating, especially with winter approaching and the holiday season near. I shared my personal efforts through Diamond Hampers, which provided over 4,500 meals in October alone and more than 500,000 meals over six years, demonstrating my commitment to supporting those in need. I asked the Council to outline the specific measures, support programs, and financial assistance available to help struggling residents and questioned why, despite these services, people continue to seek help daily from myself. My goal was to ensure that the Council is doing all it can to support those most affected by these challenging times, reflecting my dedication to their well-being.

December!
Just like many others, December was hugely successful in terms of the support we could offer and the people we managed to help.
We supplied 13,440 meals to people through our food hampers across the wider community.
We have rescued 52.6 tonnes of food waste, which has generated approximately 124,662 meals! This is through our redirected waste in our Pantry store!
We saved a whopping 89,420 (PPM) of Co2!
We prevented a whopping ยฃ42,080 worth of food from rotting in landfill!
We have helped 192 families improve their situations, by finding longer term solutions to shape brighter and more sustainable futures.
We continue to help eliminate the need for food aid and strive to live in a world where EVERYONE can afford to shop and live independently!
