This month, I had the incredible honour of attending The House of Lords with my amazing supporter, Kerrie for the Disabled Women in Politics event, as invited by Baroness Grey-Thompson.
Being surrounded by passionate, like-minded women who have faced similar barriers of gender and disability was truly inspiring and empowering.

This month, I had a highly productive and inspiring meeting with the Mayor of Huntingdonshire, where we discussed our shared vision for making a positive impact in our community.

We explored exciting ideas for launching a comprehensive awareness campaign designed to support and empower the residents of Huntingdonshire, addressing key issues such as sustainability, community engagement, and local development.

The Mayor was very enthusiastic about the potential of this initiative and we agreed on the importance of working together to create meaningful change that benefits everyone. Our collaboration holds great promise, and I am looking forward to moving forward with our plans to make a lasting difference in our district!

This month, I had the opportunity to attend an impactful and eye-opening Business Against Abuse training session, hosted by Cambridgeshire Police and HBAC.

The training focused on how businesses can come together to prevent sexual harassment and abuse by tackling predatory behaviour head-on. Admittedly, it was an incredibly tough experience for me โ€” I wobbled, I cried, and I reached out for support.

I am deeply grateful to the compassionate lady from Rape Crisis, the supportive officers from the police, and the warm hug from Hannah at HBAC, who all helped me navigate through such a sensitive and difficult topic.

It was one of the hardest trainings Iโ€™ve ever attended, but I knew it was necessary, so I could better support my community and stand against violence towards women.

Please stop telling me I am brave or that I am who I am because of what Iโ€™ve been through โ€” I am who I am IN SPITE of it. We must unite and say loud and clear: we will NOT tolerate abuse in any shape or form, and I am committed to doing my part to create a safer, more respectful environment for everyone.

I never realised the impact it was going to have on thousands of peoples lives, the difference it would make and that it would change the shape of community and bring dignity in times of adversity.

He battled through so much, fought with all his mite and we became the family he always wanted.
We showed him something he hadn’t had for a very long time. Love, compassion, decency, respect and belief.
Youโ€™ll never realise the profound effect you had on us all though.

Allotment Update!

We are making steady progress at our allotment! Can you spare any time in the week and can maybe offer some support to get our community garden flourishing!ย 
This BRAND NEW project will enable residents on referral to grow their own food, promoting healthier eating habits and reducing food costs.
By growing their own produce, residents can improve their diets with fresh, organic vegetables and fruits, directly impacting public health.
The use of sustainable farming practices in these allotments can significantly reduce the carbon footprint associated with food production. This project encourages composting, water conservation, and the use of organic pest control, contributing to biodiversity and a healthier local ecosystem.
Together we can cultivate a healthier, more self-reliant, and environmentally conscious community.

October!

Just like many others, October was hugely successful in terms of the support we could offer and the people we managed to help.

We supplied 4,557 meals to people through our food hampers across the wider community.

We have rescued 13.2 tonnes of food waste, which has generated approximately 31,284 meals! This is through our redirected waste in our Pantry store!

We saved a whopping 22,440kg (PPM) of Co2!

We prevented a whopping ยฃ10,560 worth of food from rotting in landfill!

We have helped 18 families improve their situations, by finding longer term solutions to shape brighter and more sustainable futures.

We continue to help eliminate the need for food aid and strive to live in a world where EVERYONE can afford to shop and live independently!
