What a difficult time it’s been.
Where to start.
When I launched Diamond Hampers – 6 years ago. I never expected to reach the heights it has.
I never realised the impact it was going to have on thousands of peoples lives, the difference it would make and that it would change the shape of community and bring dignity in times of adversity.
One of our longest clients and who became a friend over the years, Chris.
He battled through so much, fought with all his mite and we became the family he always wanted.
We showed him something he hadn’t had for a very long time. Love, compassion, decency, respect and belief.
You’ll never realise the profound effect you had on us all though.
We will miss you mate.
Rest easy with your dad now, you always said he was your best mate.
Fly high in those planes of yours, go plant those veggies you always wanted to.
Your life was cut short, but your impact will last a lifetime.

I am thrilled to share that I have successfully completed my Level 7 Diploma in Mental Health Counselling and Psychology!
I am now even more equipped to help and make a positive impact in mental health. Here’s to new beginnings and making a difference! 🌟📚
We are thrilled to share that this month, we collected generous donations from Brampton Village Primary School, made possible by the kindness and support of all the pupils and their families! 
These donations will go directly towards supporting our emergency food hampers, providing vital support to those in need, and we truly appreciate everyone’s compassionate contribution. 
In addition, we had the wonderful opportunity to speak with the students about the incredible work we do within the wider community. We shared stories of the impact we’ve made together and discussed how we will continue to make a difference in the lives of many.

Today, we had the incredible opportunity to participate in an impactful Naloxone training session led by David from CGL in Huntingdon!
The session was truly eye-opening and empowering, providing our team with vital knowledge and the life-saving equipment needed to respond effectively during an opioid overdose emergency.
Opioids such as morphine, heroin, codeine, and methadone pose serious risks, but with this training, we are now better prepared to act swiftly and confidently to save lives.
We’re grateful for this valuable education and committed to fostering safer communities through awareness and preparedness.
I was truly honoured to be invited as a guest speaker for The WI – Huntingdon and Peterborough Federation, where I had the wonderful opportunity to share the inspiring work we do at Diamond Hampers CIC.
It was a pleasure to discuss the vital importance of our mission, the passion that drives us, and the meaningful impact our organisation has within the community.
Through our initiatives, we strive to bring hope, support, and positive change to those in need across the district.
Engaging with such a dedicated and supportive audience reinforced the significance of collective effort and community spirit, and I am grateful for the platform to highlight how our work touches lives and fosters a sense of unity and compassion throughout the wider community.

**Exciting news!!**
As a lot of you might remember, a few years ago, I pushed through every pain barrier of mine and climbed Mount Snowdon.
Now, with the support of my lovely employee Jennie Jones – we will be climbing Scafell Pike!
We are doing this on 27th September this year.
This is a huge challenge for us both.
I have lots of physical disabilities that really do impact my life every single day.

Osteoarthritis
On top of that I suffer with mental disabilities.
Jen has lots of physical issues and for her this is also a massive challenge!
And at my side as always, will be Ewan – hopefully climbing with us too!
We are climbing to the top and back down again of this mountain to raise funds for a defibrillator and some emergency food supplies.
In the last few months, I have carried out CPR 3 times on customers. Each time we have had to run quite far to get a defib. We want to be able to store one on site.
Alongside this, our supplies for emergency food are running dangerously low and we need support with this so we can continue our emergency support to vulnerable people.

We have two stores in Huntingdon.
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐘 – open Monday to Saturday 9:30am till 2:30pm. Here you can fill a basket of food for just a £4 donation. You can access affordable food, help us raise vital funds and redirect food waste in the process!
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐂 – open Monday to Friday 9:30am till 4pm and Saturdays 9am till 5pm. Here you can access clothing from just £1 a piece, household items, toys and much more. You can access affordable clothing and living essentials whilst helping us raise crucial funds for our organisation.

You can do this in a variety of ways:
We have our own store on 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝, where we sell top brands and designer labels at affordable prices. Take a look and you might just find something you like and help us in the process.
We are members of 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠, where you can shop at thousands of online retailers and raise us money without costing you a penny. Check it out and choose us as your cause today. Every little penny donated via this, really does go a long way.
Maybe you could purchase something from our 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 on 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧? That way, items get sent direct to us. These are items to help with food hampers, fundraisers and our Christmas gift appeals.

Allotment Update!
We are making steady progress at our allotment! Can you spare any time in the week and can maybe offer some support to get our community garden flourishing!
This BRAND NEW project will enable residents on referral to grow their own food, promoting healthier eating habits and reducing food costs.
By growing their own produce, residents can improve their diets with fresh, organic vegetables and fruits, directly impacting public health.
The use of sustainable farming practices in these allotments can significantly reduce the carbon footprint associated with food production. This project encourages composting, water conservation, and the use of organic pest control, contributing to biodiversity and a healthier local ecosystem.
Together we can cultivate a healthier, more self-reliant, and environmentally conscious community.
September!
Just like many others, September was hugely successful in terms of the support we could offer and the people we managed to help.
We supplied 4,893 meals to people through our food hampers across the wider community.
We have rescued 15.5 tonnes of food waste, which has generated approximately 36,735 meals! This is through our redirected waste in our Pantry store!
We saved a whopping 26,350kg (PPM) of Co2!
We prevented a whopping £12,400 worth of food from rotting in landfill!
We have helped 16 families improve their situations, by finding longer term solutions to shape brighter and more sustainable futures.
We continue to help eliminate the need for food aid and strive to live in a world where EVERYONE can afford to shop and live independently!
